I think I can help! I have almost the exact same setup as you but mine is a 2016. If you know of a link to someone with a 2017 XLT with my exact system that just replaced speakers that would be helpful also. If you can give me some help with the install of the above speakers or have a different brand speaker and configuration that you feel would have a better result than the Infinitys I would appreciate your help. I realize that just replacing the speakers isn’t going to win me trophies in any sound competitions but I’m hoping for it to sound a lot better than it does now! If I can run the factory tweeters with the others would it help to replace the factory tweeters also? If yes with what? It doesn't sound like I get much out of the factory ones I have now. If I install these 5 speakers do I need to unhook the factory tweeters? ![]() Will the new Infinity Reference REF-3022cfx 3-1/2" 2-way Speaker make the center channel stand out more or am I better off leaving the stock speaker in that position? I can hardly hear my center channel speaker now unless I shove my head as close to it as I can. I have called Crutchfield and they recommended the following speakers:ġ08R3022CX Infinity Reference REF-3022cfx 3-1/2" 2-way Speakers 1 needed FRONT CENTERġ08R6522EX Infinity Reference REF-6522ex 6-1/2" 2-way Speakers 2 needed REAR DOORSġ08R9622IX Infinity Reference REF-9622ix 6" x 9" 2-way Speakers 2 needed FRONT DOORSĬan these just be installed in the factory positions with no other changes? I would like to upgrade just the speakers in the sound system to hopefully get this inadequate factory system to sound better. easily enough but the rest of things such as choosing the speakers, how they will need to be configured and wired, and actually which speakers to replace to end up with an improved system that I actually like listening to is where I'm needing the help. ![]() So I'm sure I can handle the installation wiring, soldering, ect. I am a retired mechanic (first career) and a retired network administrator (second career). I have never messed with subs, amps and the like. First things first, I am not a stereo system builder. Once everything is installed I'll do a tutorial thread on how I did everything, as right now information on the 2021's audio system is pretty much non-existent.I have a 2017 F-150 XLT 302.A Sport package with a 7 speaker non Sony 8 inch screen with nav and VSS. I've used this same setup on multiple F150s as well as a brand new Mustang and it always works great. This is the exact setup that I'm using for my 2021. If the head unit is on and providing power to the line output converter and the speakers are sending a signal to it then it will keep the amp on and therefore the subs working just fine whether or not the engine is running. I use a Scosche line output converter that also provides a remote turn-on signal to the amp based purely on whether or not it's receiving a signal from the speakers. The reason is because of the way that I prefer to install my subs. I had 2 10" subs in my last 2017 and the start/stop never was a problem at all. I have the stock 302a package and would be interested in the "best" replacement speakers to get some better quality audio. If the subs are installed correctly the start/stop isn't an issue. Making it a "requirement" to turn it off every time you get in the truck. ![]() Ive also heard that aftermarket subs will turn off when the engine start/stop kicks in.
